Pre-Phish 4th of July Blowout Featuring The Z3, Fikus, & The Jauntee in Saratoga Springs!
This summer, the legendary Vermont-based jam band Phish has announced a massive 25-date summer tour that will kick off on July 1st and run through to the end of August. This highly anticipated tour will include a three night stint at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center from July 3-5 in beautiful Saratoga Springs, New York.
If you’re looking for great time and a place to spend your July 4th during the Phish three-night run at SPAC, our friends over at Live For Live Music got you covered. L4LM will be hosting a huge Fourth Of July BBQ throw down only steps away from the SPAC gates. Included with your ticket is an ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT BBQ, along with sets from The Z3 (A Funky Take On Frank Zappa), FiKus, and The Jauntee. They’re also fully licensed to serve alcohol throughout the day – pregame safely! The Pre-Phish party will be held at the Columbia Pavilion, which is a covered venue only a short ten minute walk from the SPAC parking lot. Drinks will be flowing and burgers will be flipped all day long!
The Z3 puts a funky spin on the classic tunes of Frank Zappa, featuring Tim Palmieri of Kung Fu/The Breakfast, Beau Sasser, and Bill Carbone. These guys pluck songs from Zappa’s entire catalogue, interpreting them for new audiences with just a guitar, drums, and organ. The Z3 have received the seal of approval from Zappa fans, playing at the legendary Zappanale Festival in Germany, as well as a string of dates with longtime Zappa band member, Ed Mann.
New Jersey’s FiKus has been all over the east coast, cementing their place in today’s jam band scene with festival gigs and non-stop touring. They refer to their sound as “electro-funk-rock,” blending a variety of different genres into one unique sound and putting together a high energy rock show. These guys are often mentioned when discussing the future of of improvised rock.
The Jauntee is one of the few bands to emerge in the past several years that feels like a pure jam band. Jambands.com called them the “Heir To The Throne“ of Phish, and if you’ve seem them live, the comparisons don’t feel far off. Blending pure jam madness with fun covers and a flair for rock and roll, The Jauntee are pure awesomeness.
This Fourth Of July Blowout is a rain or shine event, and, in accordance with the rules of Saratoga Springs State Park, there will be no tickets for sale at the door, so get yours here while supplies last!
