RAQ with The Disco Biscuits!
RAQ will be opening for The Disco Biscuits on Friday, February 21st at The Electric Factory during the Biscuits’ 3-night run from the 20th to 22nd. RAQ is a psychedelic-progressive rock quartet from Burlington, Vermont, and was formed in the year 2000. The group is composed of guitarist Chris Michetti (who has gained much popularity with his current project, Conspirator), keyboardist Todd Stoops, (who now also leads the very successful funk band, Kung-Fu), bassist Jay Burwick, and in 2013’s incarnation of RAQ, drummer Adrian Tramantano from Kung-Fu. Originally, and in most cases, Greg Stukey is RAQ’s drummer; however, they switched it up in 2013.
RAQ was nominated for a Jammy Award in the category of “Best New Bands,” and was even mentioned in a Relix Magazine spotlight with this to say: “RAQ has the ability to captivate an audience, dropping jaws with hyperkinetic improvisational splendor.” RAQ is a band not to be missed. Seeing them live has become increasingly rare ever since their almost two year hiatus from 2008 to 2010.
