RIDE Festival Artist to Watch – Maggie Koerner
Being a music snob has its perks. Seeing artists “before they were cool” is one of the most rewarding moments of watching live music. Sadly, festival lineups don’t take into consideration that festival lovers also adore their sleep. So, when those few up-and-coming diamonds in the rough play, they often play too early for some. We love the lineup for RIDE Festival in Telluride, CO. With huge headliners like Beck and Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, one could be easily blinded by the brightness of their stardom. But we want to make sure that other fellow music lovers don’t miss the other great artists on the ticket, so we’ve taken a look at the smaller names on the festival’s lineup to let you know when to get up early. The schedule has come out and we want to make sure everyone catches our Artist to Watch: Maggie Koerner.
She has a voice like an angel, and the soulful lyrics and guitar to lend flawless accompaniment. Maggie Koerner has a singer/songwriter feel reminiscent of Cat Power. The ebb and flow of her tracks creative an emotive aspect that the studio can’t do justice. Her songs beg to be performed on stage, with the crowd swaying along, eyes closed and hearts open. Koerner tells a different poetic story with each track, leaving just enough mystery for interpretation. Maggie Koerner plays at RIDE Festival at 11 AM on the Main Stage. Yes, that means getting to the festival before noon. So set any and all alarms necessary to catch this gem before she undoubtedly hits the charts in the future. RIDE Festival opens July 8th and 9th in Telluride, Colorado at Telluride Town Park. Check out the RIDE schedule and full lineup below.
