Rusko is Coming to the Fun Zone on Long Island!
Get Down! Productions have been bringing parties down memory lane to the Fun Zone, which has been the site of many a Long Islander’s childhood birthday. The Fun Zone is very much how you remember it: laser tag, tons of arcade games, pizza, Nathan’s hotdogs, and batting cages. Only now, Get Down! is taking your childhood memories and putting an epic twist on them: bringing over 30 DJs in to perform! We all know that us Millennials just want to be kids again, with our lasers, glowsticks, costumes, glitter, etc., and Get Down! is actually bring us what we want right to the venues we fondly remember! Just this past weekend, Get Down! brought in Frankie Bones, Subset, Symbiotic, and Narkatta.
The event will run from 8pm-4am on Saturday, June 7, at the Fun Zone in Farmingdale, and since I know you’re still trying to get your mind around it, here’s a video of one of Get Down!’s latest shows at the Fun Zone:
This upcoming show will be highlighted with the one, the only RUSKO! As someone from Long Island, I can attest to how excited we get when any major artist decides to stumble out of NYC and stop somewhere before the Hamptons. You sometimes wonder if there is a mistake, like maybe they have somehow been deceived into thinking the show is in New York, only to arrive and realize this is definitely nothing like NYC. But Rusko is an amazingly impressive headliner for such a small show, with only 800 tickets being sold. If you’re not familiar with Rusko, then shame on you, sub-rock dweller! Rusko is literally a historical figure in the dubstep genre of electronic music and continues to bring hard, dirty beats to dance floors worldwide. Though he is famous for his place in the Dubstep Hall of Fame, he has definitely engaged other genres such as drum and bass. In an interview with Sensible Reason last year, he stated, “A lot of the new stuff I’ve been making and trying out in the new sets has been some drum and bass stuff. I’ve made a couple of new bits and pieces, but right now I’m kind of free. I did the one release with OWSLA, and I’ve been talking to Hospital Records about doing a release later in the year. So, I’m not really signed to any label or tied down to anything. So, right now it’s kind of fun. I’ve been working a bunch of reggae tracks, so I might do a little reggae thing at the end of the year.” What I think is the most impressive musical fun fact about Rusko is that is his a classically trained musician with a degree in Musical Performance. So for you sub-rock dwellers, here’s a major Rusko hit that you need to get down to now:
The lineup is pretty stacked with a ton of other great artists who will be performing in 3 music areas in the venue:
- Must Die! (Atlanta, Georgia)
- Sadhu (Berlin, Germany)

- Projekt Exp
- Frank Clementi

Plus a ton more of artists and FREE bumper cars, bounce house, carousel, and more! Check out the Facebook page for a full lineup! Tickets are $50 and are still available, but because of limited quantities of tickets, be sure to get yours while they are still available. Tickets are available here!
