Secret Solstice Reveals 4th Phase Lineup
What do you get when you combine 72 hours of continuous sunlight plus Europe’s second largest glacier plus hundreds of musicians from around the world? If you guessed Secret Solstice, then you are correct! Held June 16-19 in Reykjavík, Iceland, Secret Solstice embraces the endless sunshine and celebrates with four days of music, art, and exploration.
Any music festival must have a solid foundation of musical talent, and an abundance of diversity in the lineup is bound to please the palettes of a variety of music aficionados. Secret Solstice has announced Radiohead, Of Monsters and Men, and Deftones to headline the festival this year. In addition to an already extensive lineup, 41 names have been added to the bill including: Die Antwoord, rappers and cultural icons from Cape Town, South Africa; Flatbush Zombies, emcees with dark humor from New York; Art Department, infamous electronic duo from Toronto, Canada; St Germain, deep house pioneer of the “French Touch” and many, many more.
The most unique feature of Secret Solstice is the glacier party. Yes, you read that correctly…a dance party inside the Langjokull glacier. Tickets are limited to only 100, so be sure to purchase early. Although tickets for the 18th DJ set and 19th acoustic set have already sold out, due to popular demand the fest has added a third glacier party. This is an experience that you’ll be telling your grandchildren about, so be sure to act fast on grabbing yourself entry into the world’s only glacier party.
Didn’t get ticket for the glacier party? No worries! There are other exclusive after parties that you can choose from. If you want to give your dancing feet a rest, check out the secret lagoon where you can listen to a set while sitting in Iceland’s oldest geothermal bath. If you want to witness a solstice sunset, check out the boat party where you can watch the sun touch the horizon before rising again. All of these are once in a lifetime experiences that should not be missed!
