Slightly Stoopid is Playing Hammerstein Ballroom on March 22nd
Long Beach-based rock/reggae/funk/folk/rap fusion band Slightly Stoopid will be playing a huge show, presented by Live for Live Music, at Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC on March 22nd in support of last year’s album, Top of the World. The seven-piece band will take the stage to perform hits from throughout their entire career, which now spans over 15 years. Tribal Seeds, a reggae band from San Diego, will be playing support.
Formed in 1995 by childhood friends Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald, Slightly Stoopid was discovered by the late Sublime front man Bradley Nowell, who immediately signed the band to his record label, Skunk Records, whle the duo was still in high school. The band has opened for the likes of The Dave Matthews Band, The Roots, and G. Love among many others, and recently did a co-headlining amphitheater tour with Snoop Dogg, entitled “Blazed and Confused”. Their new album debuted at #13 on the Billboard 200 charts, the band’s highest debut to date, and was widely praised by critics. Relix called the album “some of their most ambitious work yet” and said it was “sure to bring the Summer vibes even when the snow is falling”–perfect for New York City in March.
