Sonic Bloom: Wave 3 Line-up Announced!
After the longest winter we have ever witnessed, summer in Colorado finally seems to be approaching, and that means it’s time for more festival news! Sonic Bloom has announced their third wave of artists as well as some special features added to the festival experience this summer. Some freshly revealed artists include The Grouch & Eligh, Future Simple Project, YuYu (Cualli & Omega), local favorite Papa Skunk, and a solo, never before seen DJ set from Zilla, Eoto, and The String Cheese Incident’s Michael Travis.
The weekend will once again feature the Sonic Bloom Orchestra, a collaborative effort by a large number of artists performing at this year’s festival. This summer will include, to name a few, Michael Travis, Jason Hann, and Jamie Janover, as well as many other impressive additions TBA.
This year, Sonic Bloom has added a brand new feature that I personally have never seen at a festival. There will be a movie theater doing constant showings of an epic documentary series about the “worldwide festival culture.” Appropriately, the series is called “The Bloom.” The documentary’s website describes the series as “a new documentary webseries illuminating the emerging culture of Transformational Festivals, immersive participatory realities that are having profound life-changing effects on hundreds of thousands of lives.” Q&A sessions will be included after each showing with the films’ creators, which they will be filming, as well as activities all over Sonic Bloom for future episodes of the series.
The Sonic Bloom: Unified Field pre-parties, hosted by Alex and Allyson Gray on May 3rd and 4th at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom, were a huge success and really set the tone for the festival to come. Keep an eye out for more line-up additions and special feature announcements, and don’t forget to purchase your tickets ASAP!
Just a reminder: Sonic Bloom is held at Shadow’s Ranch in Georgetown, CO from June 13th – 16th and is jam-packed with amazing music, art displays and performances, creative vendors, and heartwarming community activity that all are welcome and encouraged to join!
Tickets are currently in the fourth tier of sale and are $195 for a full weekend pass (Thursday to Monday) or $175 for a three-day pass (Friday to Monday). Get yours here before their gone!
