Spring Awakening Music Festival Celebrates 5 Years in 2016
Spring Awakening has been the biggest electronic music festival in the Midwest since its expansion from a one day event at the Congress Theater in Chicago. Selling out year after year, the bigger and better festival took the party to the next level – a football stadium. For 4 years, thousands flooded Soldier Field for 3 days of dance. For 2016, Spring Awakening celebrates 5 years as a festival, but the stadium just doesn’t cut it anymore.
This year’s 5th anniversary of Spring Awakening takes things to historic levels. The festival has now been moved to Jackson Park – the location of the historic World’s Fair in 1893. “Located less than 10 minutes away from downtown Chicago in the Hyde Park and South Shore neighborhoods, the new venue is just steps away from Chicago’s Museum of Science & Industry and the University of Chicago, with various public transportation options including theMetra’s 63rd St. stop – just a 15 minute ride from Millennium Station in downtown Chicago.”
This year is bound to be record breaking. Anniversary hype tends to bring the best acts out there. Special discounted pre-sale tickets are on sale now while supplies last. There is also now a layaway option for those who might be on a budget. The festival will be held June 10 – 12, 2016, snag tickets now!
