Sensible Reason’s founder, Greg Sarafan, will be speaking on Friday, January 27, at Duke University for their 7th Annual Sports and Entertainment Law Symposium. According to Duke University, “This year’s panels will address: 1) developing virtual reality technology and its implication in entertainment; 2) issues of live events, music festivals, and musician touring; 3) the resurgence of player activism in professional sports; and 4) Olympian doping and WADA/IOC governance.”

Besides running Sensible Reason, Sarafan has been General Counsel of Catskill Chill Music Festival, LLC, managing the legal affairs of Catskill Chill Music Festival and MAYfest. As their General Counsel, Sarafan works on local government relations, photo/video releases, artist/vendor integration, and health/fire code compliance, and on-site emergency response assessment and coordination.

The Symposium’s live event panel, “Lawlapalooza,” will focus on contracts, negotiations, and other legal issues in the music festival industry. Alongside Sarafan will also be Blake Coppelson, President of Proximity Music, Cameron Bowman, Partner at VIB Law and also known as “The Festival Lawyer,” Karan Ram, CEO at Moment Entertainment, LLC and Partner at FRDM Fest, and Richard Idell, Live Entertainment Attorney at The Idell Firm.
