Steve Anderson Shares Another Kylie Gem From Her Summer Tour
It’s been one hell of a weekend to be a Kylie Minogue fan. In the span of three days, a demo from the Kiss Me Once sessions was unearthed on SoundCloud and Mark Picchiotti debuted an updated version of “Butterfly” at Sydney Mardi Gras. While these tunes began the start of a beautiful weekend, Minogue’s longtime collaborator, Steve Anderson, cemented a pop cocktail by unleashing an updated version of Minogue’s cover of “Celebration” as part of his Saturday playlist. Not only is this tune in time for one of the world’s biggest parties, it adds for the perfect anthem for any joyous occasion.
Kylie recorded this Kool & The Gang song originally in 1991 for her fourth album, Let’s Get to It, but it failed to be included on the final track listing. With Minogue ending her partnership with Stock Aitken Waterman the following year, the song saw a release as the second single from Minogue’s Greatest Hits compilation. Despite lackluster success with her cover, Minogue has claimed it as one of her favorites with “Celebration” making recent appearances on her Summer 2015 tour and her Christmas show at the Royal Albert Hall.
Over the years, Steve Anderson has provided his collaborations with the Australian pop star on SoundCloud, later turning to Heartthis.at. Within the last year, Anderson produced his updated tour mixes of “Love At First Sight,” “On A Night Like This,” “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” and “Wow” for fans. With each remix, fans’ collections grew and our hearts were tinged with pop pleasure as not only his production reflects on the state of music, it’s a nice addition to pop music overall.
