STS9 Tour heading to Florida!
If there is anything to get excited about in downtown Orlando, it is the upcoming STS9 show coming up on April 25th. The show will be held at the Beacham and is the first of three shows in Florida for STS9’s 2013 summer tour. As it turns out, the three Florida shows are the last of STS9’s shows at venues; the rest of their concerts will be held during the summer festival circuit until they hit Red Rocks in September!
STS9 formed in Atlanta over a decade ago. The past 10 years that I have been listening to them have been a journey. Their music, presentation and stage lighting have been changing and evolving but still holding true to the fundamentals of their music design. The instrumental electronic rock sounds from STS9 were and are without a doubt some of the first to create the jamtronic music scene. The vibe of an STS9 show is energetic and happening, yet smoothly spiritual and transcendent. STS9 is one of the top-grossing touring acts, averaging nearly 5,000 tickets per city, boasting a list of opening acts such as Snoop Dogg, Snoop Lion, Bassnectar, Ghostland Observatory, The Glitch Mob, Thievery Corporation, Pretty Lights, Big Boi and countless others.
Besides the music and show, there is another meaning to the band’s name– they are known for donating proceeds from shows or from merchandise sold at shows to various charities. In past years, STS9 has teamed up with Concious Alliance, Renewable Energy Credits, the Make It Right Foundation, and their own Peaceblaster blog.
This year’s tour will take STS9 to Summer Camp Music Festival, Wakarusa Music Festival, Moonrise Festival, Jambase Festival, Camp Bisco, and All Good Music Festival. In the past STS9 has headlined and played several other festivals, including Moogfest, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Lollapalooza, and Electric Forest Festival.
Orlando, get ready for a great show and a kick off for summer. Put on your dancing shoes, get on your grooving moves and in the band’s own words, get ready for their “groove and move” music which will come down on the city on 4/25. Tickets are available here. Doors open at 7pm.
