SummerDance 2014: Initial Lineup Announcement
Faithful followers of Sensible Reason may recall my….err…rabid passion for a little grassroots festival in Northeast Ohio called SummerDance. Or, to more correctly phrase it, my rabid passion for livetronica-and-more mainstay Lotus and the band’s place on the festival’s lineup. The festival has taken place at the gorgeous grounds of Nelson Ledges Quarry Park since 2008, and Lotus has headlined the festival five of its six years. 2012 marked the first year the festival went on without the band, and, since that fateful summer, Lotus fans far and wide have worried each year about whether they will have to attempt to survive a summer without their beloved Family Gathering.
Fear not, my friends, as 2014 will not be one of those years. Lotus HQ has announced that the seventh annual SummerDance, taking place from August 29 to September 1, will yet again feature Lotus as the headliner on August 30 and 31. Break Science, Cosby Sweater, Moon Hooch and Luke the Knife will also perform, with other bands, including Friday night’s headliner, to be revealed at a later date.
Tickets are currently available through Ticketfly with a very affordable price tag of $90; however, the prices will soon go up to $100 (which is still one hell of a deal for three days and nights of lakeside music in a beautifully lush state park). Buy your tickets here.
For more information on SummerDance, check out the Facebook event page here, or on the NLQP website here, where you can also find information on the Park. Stay tuned to Sensible Reason for news on lineup additions and more. Hope to see you all at the Ledges for what is shaping up to be yet another fantastic Lotus Family Gathering!
