Sunday is for Football
Week 16 was full of surprises. The Giants played spoiler by beating the Lions in OT and and thus eliminating them from the playoffs! The Bionic QB Peyton Manning threw his 51st TD of the season breaking Tom Brady’s NFL record of 50 TD passes in a season. Buffalo defense ran amok on the Dolphins’ offense and did not allow them to score. The Patriots lit up the Ravens, giving the Dolphins a faint chance of making the playoffs. Cam Newton lead the Panthers on a last-minute scoring drive over the Saints to not only win the game but secure a playoff spot! Despite Carson Palmer throwing 4 INT’s, the Cards beat the Seahawks in Seattle, snapping a 14 home game winning streak for the Seahawks!
There are several big games on tap for the final week of the regular season. There are 2 divisions still up for grabs in the NFC; they will be win-and-in games and one wildcard spot left! The AFC has one wildcard spot left with the Dolphins, Ravens and Chargers playing for it.
In the NFC North divisional crown game, the Green Bay Packers head into Chicago to face the Bears! Aaron Rodgers will finally return to action after suffering a fractured collarbone almost 7 weeks ago. This will be an offensive shoot out! Both teams’ defenses have been suspect, playing up-and-down games all year. As much as I would love to go with the Bears on this one, I just cannot in good faith do so. I am going all-in with Green Bay! They have one of the best QB ‘s in the league that they can count on to make the big plays to lead them to the playoffs!
The NFC East divisional crown game will be the last game of the regular season. The Soaring Philadelphia Eagles head into Dallas to face off against the Cowboys! The Cowboys’ chances of making the playoffs lie in the hands of their backup QB Kyle Orton, whose last start came in 2011. The Eagles’ high-powered offense lead by the hot hand of QB Nick Foles and the dynamic RB LeSean McCoy will have its way against a lackluster Cowboys defense. No sense pulling punches here, there is no way the Cowboys can win this game. Short of a belated Christmas miracle handed to them, the Eagles will light them up!
