With a huge statement win on Monday night, the Pats proved they are not messing around. The Texans, on the hand, came into this game favored but never showed why they were 11-1. Ever since Brian Cushings went down, their defense has been less than stellar, leaving everyone to question their ability to win games against big time opponents. Brady is playing with a chip on his shoulder and feels the burn of being denied victory in his last 2 Superbowl appearances by the Giants. It pains me to say this as a Dolphins fan, but he just might get to the dance yet again this year.
The Ravens are struggling at the wrong time of the year! They lost to the Redskins in OT. Even with RGIII knocked out of the game, they still could not hold on to the lead. Big trouble in Baltimore if you ask me! Big Ben is back from injury and if the Ravens can’t find a way to win, the Steelers will end up winning the division.
The Panthers left the Falcons dazed and confused! I can’t say I didn’t see this coming, I just didn’t think they would lose to the Panthers! I was ready to buy in, I really was, but now I’m right back at square one with them. They need a playoff win– and a convincing one at that– to make me believe they can get to the Superbowl.
How about them Seahawks?!?!?! Wow, I am truly surprised by this squad! Not only did they hand the Arizona Cardinals their worst loss in franchise history, but they also posted their best win in Seahawks history! The 58-0 game was a burn burner for the ages. The Seahawks are hot on the 49ers’ tails and gaining speed. The 49ers need this week’s win against the Pats to keep their hopes of winning the division alive!
It looks like my prediction of the Bears winning NFC North might be wrong. The Bears lost to the Vikings and Cutler was injured during the game. The Packers pulled off a win against the Lions, pulling ahead in the division. This week’s Bears/Packers match-up will determine who will be crowned the division champs! Come on, Bears, don’t maker me a liar!
This week’s Bozo No No goes out to the one and only Commissioner Rodger Goodell! He really fries my pork chop (Thanks Penny)! He had me peeved when he said he wanted to eliminate kick-offs, citing player safety. Listen, I am all about player safety, but let’s be honest with ourselves… Football is a dangerous game! Players can get hurt in every phase of the game. It’s football, not flag football! Then, what finally pushed me over the edge was his idea of altering the playoffs. He would like to go from 12 teams to 14 or 16 teams being let into the Playoffs! Seriously?!?!? Why not just let everyone in, huh? You’re pressing your luck Goodell! I for one would like to see you gone!
