Symbiosis Gathering: Slaying the Lineup Game
Oh, dear Symbiosis Gathering family… Summer hasn’t even started and we’re already looking forward to fall. I give infinite snaps and claps to those who curated this year’s lineup. As if having another gathering right after last year wasn’t a treat enough, the lineup that has just dropped is forward-thinking, unique, and loaded. Headliners include FKA Twigs, Gramatik, RL Grime, Santigold, Ta-ku, Warpaint, Beats Antique, and Claude VonStroke. In Symbiosis fashion, their recently released lineup flyer has so many artists on it that you will probably keep looking at it throughout the day and notice even more artists that you didn’t see before that will tickle your fancy.
Symbiosis takes place on Woodward Reservoir in Oakdale, California on September 22nd through the 25th. The festival contains multiple camping areas, stages, interactive environments, food and clothing vendors, permaculture hub, yoga and workshop domes, and naturally, a reservoir for all of your swimming needs. Last year, art boats and art floats graced the surface of the lake, floating from one point to another and housing festival attendees and their shenanigans. This year will be no different so don’t forget your swimsuit. If the lake isn’t your place to hang, don’t worry, there will be plenty of other activities for you to participate in. Symbiosis is a potent learning environment with infinite possibilities. Learn new skills, better your current skills, find a new practice or hobby that you’d like to incorporate into your everyday life, meet new friends, and have brand new experiences. Symbiosis is the soil and we are the seeds; our community is what makes the land flourish.
