Tchami x Malaa Announce Their Arrival With NO REDEMPTION EP
In the world of electronic music, supergroup collaborations are becoming more and more commonplace. Artists join forces seemingly all the time now and at times the end result can feel contrived and forced. French maestros Tchami and Malaa are two artists that definitely have the skills to stand alone, yet their highly lauded joint project is anything but a stunt. Coming off of a huge Miami Music Week that culminated in a headlining set at Ultra Music Festival’s 20th anniversary. Now the ultra-hyped duo has made a major statement with their debut NO REDEMPTION EP.
NO REDEMPTION gets off to an ominous start with a goosebump-inducing intro, signifying the pair’s sinister intentions. “Summer 99” oozes with swagger and a hypnotic appeal that will capture the hearts and minds of fans around the world. With “Kurupt” Tchami and Malaa put their unique fusion of future house and bass music on full display. This track thumps with malicious intent, somehow simultaneously tailor-made for dimly lit underground clubs and wide open festival stages in equal measure. If you want to see a shuffler really let loose and get down, then throw “The Sermon” on the nearest set of speakers. With its precocious percussion and throbbing bass line, this tune is a potion for instant pandemonium. NO REDEMPTION comes to a close with the deliciously dynamic “Deus.” Heavenly builds give way to menacing drops ripe with deep house overtones.
NO REDEMPTION has been a huge hit across both the digital streaming and festival circuit massive, selling out acclaimed venues like Aragorn Ballroom in CHI, Shrine in LA, Echostage in DC, and the Brooklyn Hangar in NY. The 4/4 release date of the NO REDEMPTION EP marks exactly a month before Tchami x Malaa head to San Francisco for a sold-out show at Bill Graham Civic Center in SF, followed by yet another sold-out show at the legendary Red Rocks in CO on 5/11.
