The Rush is on to North Coast Music Festival
This summer both East Coast and West Coast will be trumped by none other than North Coast Music Festival. After 4 years of delivering funky and fresh beats, “Summer’s Last Stand” will be holding it down in Chicago from August 30th to September 1st. This weekend will provide festival-goers the chance to end their summer on cloud 9 with a euphoric music-induced haze.
Since 2010, North Coast Music Festival has brought together an amazing selection of music from all sides of the electro spectrum. Artists such as Pretty Lights, STS9, Big Boi, EOTO, and local legends like Umphery’s McGee have graced North Coast with some amazing shows. This year’s first wave of artists has everyone talking. Headliners consist of Big Gigantic, Afrojack, and the highly anticipated performance of 36 Chambers by Wu-Tang. Following the headlines, North Coast is providing an intoxicating variety of electronic and hip hop artists such as The Disco Biscuits, Mac Miller, Lotus, Nas, Paper Diamond, Laidback Luke, Datsik, and Skream to name a few who will be sure to bring the heat and have you getting real low on the dance floor. If that doesn’t get your motor running, stay tuned for the second wave of artists and headliners to be announced in the weeks to come.
North Coast Music Festival will take place at Union Park right in the heart of the city of Chicago. Known for the eclectic festivals held there all summer long, get ready for the mind-blowing 6 stage setup. Between two main stages with no overlapping headliners, two smaller stages that welcome new and up coming artists, and two silent disco stages, your day will be filled with non stop entertainment. Not only will your ears be filled with music but your eyes will be treated to an array of artistic visual stimuli that will be scattered throughout the park.
What sets North Coast apart from other fests such as Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, and Camp Bisco? Well this is a 3-day NON-camping festival, so after partying all day and night you’ll get to enjoy the luxury of staying in Chicago tent free. There are a wide variety of hotel accommodations (a favorite being The Congress Hotel) which are only a short cab ride from Union Park. Also, keep your ears open for late night announcements poppin’ off all over Chicago every night after the festival.
Mark this one on the calendar kidz, this is not something you want to miss. While leaving behind all the camping dilemmas, this festival is convenient for both east and west coasters. Pack your bags and gather your crew one more time before you hunker down for the winter and end your summer on an epic note at North Coast Music Festival.
