Time Warp USA: Five Artists We Can’t Wait To See In The Bronx
From November 22-23, Time Warp will make a highly anticipated return to New York City. After five years away, the globally beloved techno brand will bring an absurdly talented lineup to the New York Expo Center in The Bronx. Techno lovers all along the east coast will surely be making the pilgrimage to this massive event. With such an incredible wealth of talent slated to perform at next weekend, it’s easy to become dizzy by the sheer number of legends on the lineup. We did our best to pick out five artists we absolutely can’t wait to see at Time Warp 2019.
First and foremost, we can’t wait to get down with the vaunted techno and house innovator, Maceo Plex. The Cuban-American producer has garnered a near-religious following across the globe thanks to his sinister brand of deep, dark techno. Easily the one artists we are most excited to see, Maceo Plex will surely be one of the highlights of next weekend.
Russian phenom Nina Kraviz is more of a force of nature than a DJ. Hailing from Irkutsk, Siberia, Kraviz has established herself as one of the foremost names in techno and house. She founded the Trip label in 2014 and has a catalog of infamous club bangers that is unrivaled by many artists. When Nina Kraviz takes the decks next weekend there’s no doubt that wild scenes will surely ensue.
Perhaps the most anticipated artist on this year’s Time Warp lineup is Ricardo Villalobos. Making an extremely rare appearance in the States, Villalobos is truly the white whale for American techno heads. With the rarity of this iconic booking, we will surely be on hand to see what all the hype is about, as should you.
Peggy Gou is a rising star that has been making major waves in the dance music community. A Berlin-based Korean artist, Peggy Gou has turned heads in underground circles through a regular stream of high-quality mixes. As one of the freshest names in techno and house, we are chomping at the bit to check out Peggy Gou for our first time.
What else do we need to say about Richie Hawtin? An icon of the scene, Hawtin is a master of techno, house and minimal beats. The British-born Canadian-raised DJ and producer has changed the game more times than we can count. Just for the sake of reputation, Richie Hawtin has to be one of the must-see artists at Time Warp next weekend.
