Movement Celebrates 10 Years in Detroit
Movement Electronic Music Festival has always been one of the best city festivals to attend, yet it has always stayed small enough to be an intimate festival for the masses. If you like house music, look for further than Movement. Replacing the once free Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF) in 2006, Movement has been Detroit’s destination fest for the past 9 years. 2016 marks Movement’s 10th year anniversary, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store.
There’s something about a somewhat abandoned place that just screams house music (maybe all those 90’s underground warehouse parties we keep hearing about). Detroit has had its twists and turns of fate, leaving it the perfect place to explore if you’re not used to seeing empty skyscrapers, not to mention the city is one of the top birthplaces of house and techno music. Detroit is on its way back to the top, why not check it out and dance a little before it’s “too cool” to visit?
This year’s Movement Phase 1 lineup includes Kraftwork 3-D, Get Real (Claude VonStroke & Green Velvet), Art Department, Boys Noize, Justin Martin, Richie Hawtin and a ton more – and that’s just Phase 1! Get ready for the deepest grooves possible with this amazing festival.
Held Memorial Day weekend – Saturday May 28-Monday May 30 at Hart Plaza in Detroit, tickets are on sale here with GA weekend passes less than $150!
