Treasure Island Music Festival Lineup Announced — Tickets Go On Sale Today!
Calling all Bay Area festival fanatics! Do any of you happen to have plans on the 18th or 19th of October? If so, you need to cancel them, because these are the dates for the eighth annual Treasure Island Music Festival.
If you’ve never had the pleasure of partying on the island that floats in the bay between San Francisco and Oakland, let us get you up to speed. TIMF is the Bay Area’s premier “boutique” festival. With just two alternating stages, and only thirteen artists and bands performing each day, TIMF makes it easy for attendees to see every band on the lineup without needing to sprint through miles of crowd (or even worse, dealing with that dreaded festival conundrum — lineup overlap!) Due to the small number of stages, the ticket prices for TIMF are incredibly reasonable, upping that bang for buck quotient.
The other unique feature of TIMF is that they split each day of the weekend into its own vibe. Day one is mostly electronic and hip-hop artists, while the second day is home to the indie rock side of things, so just in case your tastes aren’t completely over the map, you can get a big dose of your favorite style of tunes in just one day. And if you are one of the dedicated (like myself), you don’t have to worry about wearing yourself out to the dance sets on day one, because day two is curated with hangovers and sore muscles in mind.
While we don’t know exactly how they’re splitting things up yet, the full lineup was just released and as mentioned above, I do believe this collection of artists to be one of the best that all-star production team duo Noise Pop & Another Planet Entertainment have been able to cobble together. Okay, without any further jibber-jabber, the lineup:
Outkast, Massive Attack, Zedd, Alt-J, TV on the Radio, Janelle Monae, The New Pornogrpahers, Washed Out, St. Lucia, Banks, Jungle, White Denm, M0, Polica, The Growlers, Classixx, Chet Faker, Ryan Hemsworth, Ana Tijoux, Asgeir, XXYYXX, Ratking, Tobacco, Bleached, Painted Palms, and Waters.
2-Day Early Bird passes will go on sale on Thursday, June 19th at 10:00AM PDT. Be sure to set your alarm clocks because these babies will go fast. Stay tuned to Sensible Reason as we will be bringing you updates about the fest, as well as full coverage of the event itself.
