Less than two weeks until Phases of the Moon Lifts off!
Phases of the Moon Music and Arts Festival is less than two weeks away. The festival’s HQ has released a lot of news in the past two weeks, including schedule release, lineup updates, and more.
Firstly, as most know by now, Bob Weir backed out of the rest of his shows with Ratdog as well as the only set Furthur had been booked for this year at Interlocken. That means that there is a sizable gap to be filled in. But, String Cheese Incident will be playing another set on Friday at the Full Moon stage in addition to their Thursday set at the same stage. Also stepping in to fill out the ticket on short notice is Grace Potter and the Nocturnals at the New Moon stage on Friday the 12th.
Continuing past the music, a few festive acts could earn you a couple free tickets to 2015’s Phases of the Moon. The coolest campsite and costume themed nights are pretty straight forward in the contest rules. The themes for the costume contest are, for friday night, Space Jam, which is where one tries to look like a lunar lunatic, or dare we say. . . a lunartic? Saturday night’s theme is Power to the Purple so participants must become one with the color purple in any way possible. The winner will take home two VIP tickets to next year!
For the campsite contest be sure to show your decked out campsite on Instagram with the tag #PhasesCampsite, and they will select the finalists, then everyone will get to vote on their favorite one.
Don’t forget about the art that will be presented and performed as well. The most notable artists will be Alex and Allyson Grey transgressing the vibes through their brushes along with the astonishing portrait painter John Jansky. If that isn’t enough to feed the eyes don’t forget about the Furthur bus. . .
Also, Phases has been featuring artists on their Moon Tunes stations so be sure to look out for new releases on youtube as well as their webpage. Checkout episode #14 as Cornmeal performs Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon.”
