The Victors of the 2014 Grammy Awards
Last night at the Grammy Awards, a couple things happened. It was a night with many of the same faces gracing the stage and standing befuddled before the microphone. First of all, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis kinda dominated the night, with a total of 4 awards, including the slightly infamous “Best New Artist Award.” Lorde had her share of success taking two Grammys home and Daft Punk won Record and Album of the Year.
Then, of course, there are the theatrics of the night. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’s performance of “Same Love” was a memorable one, as 33 couples, some same-sex, were married by Queen Latifah. On the other end of the spectrum, there was also Katy Perry’s witch-inspired performance, complete with some saucy broomstick dancing.
Just like every year, the night of the Grammy Awards ended with its iconic moments, forever embedded in our history. Needless to say, Pharrell’s hat will probably come to define the 56th Grammy Awards rather than the actual winners and nominees.
